Repurposed

I have subscribed to Readymade Magazine for a few years. I admire the cleverness of those who contribute ideas to the magazine. They take ordinary items that might otherwise be discarded, and repurpose them into something useful. I have often hoped for my own Readymade idea to come to me. Well, here is what I have so far. I work at a lumberyard. We often receive promotional banners from companies whose products we sell. These exterior grade banners are displayed outside on our fence. When an old banner gets replaced, or we no longer support that particular company, the banners traditionally get tossed into the dumpster. I wondered if the sturdy material could be repurposed into something useful, like a new bib for Henry. So, I brought home what I could salvage from a damaged banner (Sikkens Stain) and cut out a bib shape. I installed some snaps, and tried it out on him. So far, so good! Maybe it is time to sell on Etsy?

  1. Pretty neat! That looks much cooler than the bumkins bibs, me thinks!
