I have not bathed Jess in a while, so while Lisa and Oliver were in Silverdale, Henry and I put our dog into the tub for a good scrubbing. Lisa and I notice that if we are out for a walk with Jess and the boys, many people that we meet on the street are either oriented towards children, or dogs. We have seen people completely engrossed in one while ignoring the other: (Oh, your doggy is SOOOOOO Cute!) or, (Oh, you SWEET Little BOY! You are just so Special Weshul!!!). Lisa and I like to quietly observe these interactions and then discuss them later: (Wow, that person had no idea that Henry was even there!) or, (Wow, that person would not even acknowledge Jess while she wagged her tail at them!). I think this is why Sociology was one of the most fascinating subjects in high school. How people are wired is so interesting. And all of this comes to my mind simply from washing the dog.
