The Patch

Fellow chanterelle enthusiasts are talking about how great this season is. And they tell tales of these amazing patches of chanterelles that fill up buckets within the hour. And though I have found modest quantities of chanterelles this season, I had yet to find The Patch that everyone else seemed to find. Well, today was my day. Quite by accident, I came across the biggest flush of chanties that I have ever seen. It was quite the sight. I usually bring a large and a small basket with me, and this patch overfilled the small basket and nearly filled the big basket! Now all I have to do is remember where in all the green acres of forest this patch exists, so that I can return in the future.
