The Cold Frame

I have finished building my first cold frame! (Think of it as a small greenhouse for the poor man). They are useful for extending the growing season on both ends: Earlier planting starts in Spring and protection for plants through the Fall and Winter. I have wanted one for awhile, and many factors worked together to make this one happen. The repurposed glass is from our discarded storm door, and the frame material is a composite decking material that I saved from the dumpster at work. My construction skills are rough, but I am happy with my first attempt, and look forward to starting spinach seeds this week.
