The Splinter

I handle a lot of wood products at work, but since I usually wear gloves, I do not encounter too many splinters. On the day I chose not to wear gloves, this little piece is what shot into my finger when I grabbed a board. It was a full two days before the splinter worked its way to the surface of the skin so that I could remove it with tweezers. 1/2 an inch!
