There are so many wonderful birds to see in town. Here is a Great Blue Heron flying over our house in the evening. Their physical size and prehistoric squawks are so fascinating to me.
Once when I was walking home I heard a loud scream in the bushes. EXTREMELY startled, I looked up to see that it was a Heron taking flight. That only brought mild consolation to me. (since I thought I was going to have to change my shorts after the surprise of it all...)

Those buggers are huge! We have a pond next door and they frequent it for the goldfish. Oftentimes I'll come out of the garage and startle one, they're as big as taradactles!
