Back To School

Back at it today.
(And on a side note, these shots showcase the really nice camera I am borrowing to assist with a wedding shoot this weekend. Must practice, practice, practice!)

Excited for school.

Has informed us that he will not be going to school.

In Henry's new classroom.

With Mr. Lundh.

One last play together.

A hug goodbye.

And in the school library there is a "Tea and Tissue" area for parents. (or for siblings who are constantly hungry...)

Practicing the bad face...

...Practicing the Auntie Ange smile.

Creative People

I took a break from the usual scheduled program today to take in our county-wide Artist Studio Tour.
Once a year, artists of all mediums open up their studios to the public, showcasing their work, and being on hand to meet and greet. I truly enjoy seeing the creative work of others. Seeing people do what they love.

I begin my studio tour at studio 15,  painter Jason Gould's home.

Jason creates amazingly cheerful, vibrant paintings.

Every wall space  in the studio is taken up by artwork.
On to Kathy Francis' studio. Our former landlady who treated Lisa and I like family.
And outside her new home/studio is the Poetry Post!

There is Kathy, in the black smock, surrounded by admirers of her paintings.

And right next door to Kathy's new house, is Kathy's old house, where the Missus and I first lived when we came to town. Good memories!

Popsicles, Parades, and People

A bit of a catch-up catch-all of photos here for your consideration:

Family walks.

Family walks make us realize just exactly how many yards in town have a boat in them.

And family walks always bring us to the place that has goats and chickens.

Popsicle/reflection time.

Popsicle/reflection time is rather messy and sticky.

Parade time again. (waiting for the parade)

The Grinch would not appreciate all the noise, noise, noise!!

Leaving the parade after its finale.

My Contribution To The "Men Cook The Meal" Meal

Last night the menfolk were in charge of the victuals as the womenfolk chitter-chattered away.
Though I did not contribute any kitchen apron time, I did help out my fellow men by gathering berries for the pie, and cutting greens from our garden:
We needed a whole bucket of these...
... so I gathered a helper. (considerably more berries made their way to taste-test use than storage use)

The bucket begins to fill up.

Oh, and don't forget the salad....

...Though the pie is what really excites us!

Fair Time

Once again it is time for the fair here on the peninsula.

So many things to see and do...

We  can hear string music.

We see things that clever people make, like this wooden crane.

We see the model trains.

We see fattening fair... fare.

We can see a Goatsheep or a Swinellama.

We can see baby ducklings!

And we can see chickens who have hatched baby ducklings!

We can pet guinea pigs and confuse 4-Her's with our questions.

We can see chickens do magic tricks, like laying eggs outside of the pen!

We can learn things that Ann probably already knew.

And Papa will learn that the camera batteries will expire about a half an hour into the visit!

In The Big City

A day off work today as we took some time for a visit to the city:
The ferry ride begins, and the sights are pointed out.

Maybe we did cut his hair a bit short...
Ferry seats are a perfect changing table.

Arrival.

Industry.

Cue the hoe-down music as this individual begins a rather jaunty jig in front of ten thousand arriving ferry passengers.

Downtown Seattle has hills, and this individual went on strike at approximately our second hill climb, taking a rest at a bus stop.

I just know that Bo and Luke Duke would use this as a launching getaway ramp!

A stop at the big city library.

And we end our trip with a stiff drink.
